A construction company, a local company you would know by name, had carelessly discarded one of their concrete blades. It was no longer useful to them and they left it in front of this home, in this neighborhood, where her granddaughter lived. It could have been in your neighborhood.

Drug overdose deaths have increased five-fold since 1990.
A 2008 survey of Utah adults found 21 percent had been prescribed an opioid pain medication. Nearly a fourth of Utah’s population used these addictive opioids. There are more drug deaths in Utah than traffic fatalities. Think about that one. That’s a lot of people using pain pills. [...]

The first day of Spring this year was last Saturday on March 2oth.
The weather was beautiful wasn’t it? Better than today. It’s such a phenomenon here in Utah in early spring-everyone moving outside at the same time; biking, walking the dog, beginning early yard work, the surveying of brown lawns and scrawny gardens.

At least 10-percent of fatal crashes in Utah are caused by drowsy driving.
Drowsy driving is just as dangerous as driving under the influence.
